Russian-born Svetlana Kuznetsova  is coached by Larisa Savchenko. Her father, Alexander, coached six Olympic cycling champions and world champions. Among his pupils was Svetlana’s mother, Galina Tsareva, a six-time world champion and holder of 20 world records,as well as her brother, Nikolai Kuznetsov, a silver medalist in the 1996 Atlanta Summer Olympics. Svetlana began playing tennis at age 7. She proclaims to never leave home without her Ipod, and enjoys a wide variety of music. She has no one favorite player, but admires all who fight on the court.
